"Summer on the Poultney River" oil on mounted canvas, 18 x 24

I was needing to pull together a painting which will be used for an advertisement later this summer for a show in which I will be participating. In going through my files and sketches I came upon materials I obtained last summer while out and about. I am enjoying painting water immensely and think I will probably be adding this element into my work quite a bit in the future. Now with the still cold temps and melting snow, its hard to believe that in a few short months the pastures, hills and trees will be cloaked in verdant hues. I guess, like everyone else here, I am ready for spring as well.

Lovely painting, Andrew! You paint water so well, you should definitely continue to paint it.

While I welcome spring for many reasons, I prefer to paint the landscape when everything is not GREEN!
