Single Peony, oil on canvas, 8 x 10

While we are still waiting for spring to come its nice to be able to think about what might be ahead in the garden this summer. I spent an afternoon, a very cold and blustery afternoon, working on this simple peony in a glass jar. I really enjoyed the simple and graceful composition with strong lighting. I was so pleased with the result, I arranged a few more in a simple, but larger set up. Maybe I'll get to that this week.

The Peony is one of my favorite flowers and eventually the front walk will be lined on both sides with varying Peonies.

This is beautiful.. you have treated it nobbily!

Seeing this was a great way to start the morning as it it sleeting outside:)

Thanks
